Sunday Services

All you need to know about HFC on a Sunday

Our Sunday Services are lively and vibrant, with contemporary worship and a challenging message. You are assured to receive a warm welcome when you arrive at the church. We meet at Honiton Community College and have facilities for Children and young people each week.

We understand that coming to a new church for the first time may be a daunting prospect, so below are some frequently asked questions to help put your mind at ease

What time does the Service Start?

Honiton Family Church’s main service starts at 10.30am and people usually arrive from any time after 10am. Refreshments are served at the beginning and at the end of the service. The service lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.

What happens when I arrive?

You will be welcomed by a someone from our welcome team. They will tell you all you need to know about the church so please feel free to ask! You are welcome to grab a drink as you come in. Honiton Family Church is a very friendly church so you will soon find yourself chatting to others. Feel free to come in and grab a seat!

What is the service like?

We aim to make our service accessible to everyone and want you to feel at home with us whether you are one or 101 years old! We usually start with a time of sung worship, which our worship band lead us in. There is something for children in the service. At Honiton Family Church we value children highly and view them as just as much a part of the church as adults. Each week there is a talk from the bible which is relevant and engaging. The aim of our service is to worship God, learn about him and be encouraged and enthused to go and live for him. No one who comes to the service is perfect and we don’t pretend to be. You don’t need to dress or act differently. We want you to feel yourself when you are with us.

What facilities do you have for Children and Youth?

We have a number of children who attend the church each week with their families, and as a result we run a creche for 0-3 year olds each week, as well as Sunday live! for 4-9 year olds. Sunday live is a fun filled and engaging group which seeks to introduce children to Jesus in a relevant way! The children who attend have a great time each week!

We also run Encounter Youth Group every Sunday, which is a group for young people in school years 5-9. This is relevant, engaging and practical, looking at some big topics of life and faith. This group meets during the sunday morning service.

What happens after the service?

People generally stay around for a while to chat and get to know each other. At the school there is an enclosed playground where some of the children go and play after the service. Refreshments are available, but you don’t need to stay if you are unable to!

Verse of the Day

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you. — Hebrews 13:17 (NIV)
